Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Short (very short) and downright lithe, narrow shoulders and waist both. He looks like he'd be delicate and he is, and even if there's a surprising bit of muscle hiding underneath, he's not by any stretch of the imagination particularly strong or athletic.

2. How old is he?
Depends a little, but 18-20

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
It's extremely unlikely you'd ever catch Solarion slouching, sitting anything but neatly or similar things. You could teach lessons of great posture and walk using Arion as your template, though for all that he's very proper, he never moves as if it's limiting; there's grace and ease in it, which admittedly might make him look all the more haughty for it.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Fit enough to ride for several hours for days if need be, and train an hour or two with fencing or swimming, but that's all. He's not particularly interested in athletic pursuits. He's otherwise healthy as anyone could wish him to be, though his lack of height is probably due to complications in the womb.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Graceful and relaxed, though he might seem kind of repressed/uptight with how controlled his body language usually is.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
If you like 'pretty' in the sense of delicate features, then he's definitely attractive. He's well-proportioned with his features having fine lines, in that sort of aristocratic/elvish way. He's also got a baby face going on, and while he'll eventually outgrow it, he'll be dragging that around for a good while.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Light, but tans surprisingly well and dark. There's a golden sort of undertone to his skin. Aside from that, his complexion is clear and smooth - even if he hasn't had good skin care available every day of his life, his skin would be fine enough.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Feathery and short, cut in a surprisingly whimsical way, especially how it's allowed to fall across his face. His hair has some strange ideas about where it wants to point, so he gets sort of feathery spikes at the back of his head. They could be tamed either cut short enough or by using product, but Solarion likes the look of them, so as soon as he was old enough to have a preference and express it, his hair has stayed long enough to form those spikes, and been allowed to do so.
Before he learned magic, his hair was platinum blond; it's white now.

9. What color are his eyes?
Dark blue, pretty startling against his pale hair and eyes.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Aside from his very fine pointy ears and white hair, not really.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
Basically a T-shape between his shoulders and up to his neck.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Dressed up to the max, basically. He follows the latest elven aristocratic fashion both by choice and interest as well as station and necessity. There is a lot of clothes, though some may look very similar since it's more about variety in details and detailing to fit the occasion than anything else. He likes to mix dark colours with pastel ones, though his preference for lighter colours isn't exactly proper fashion at the moment.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
They fit like they were made for him, because they were, and he'd probably look more awkward in simple dress than the clothes he normally wears. He's both used to the layers, complexity and cut as well as taking comfort from it. It might be a hassle sometimes, but it's part of his life.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
The only difference is a concession to his favourite colours and colour choices (so the mix of light and dark is less fashionable than it otherwise would be). Perhaps with an extra floppy bow here and there, but those are luckily in fashion for both men and women at the moment, so no one would remark on it.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
If that style of underwear was worn; briefs or boxer-briefs.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Quite high, though the way he speaks gives his voice more depth and weight. It's very clear and bright.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Soft and even, he's as collected with his voice as he is with his body language and expressions, but he speaks like he means it and seldom hesitates, because he doesn't really have much reason to hesitate.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
There's no equivalent of course, but he does have the accent belonging to the area he grew up, which is considered the "right" accent to have. Otherwise his speech is very correct, so there's no real quirks, aside from, perhaps, very seldom slipping into the royal 'we' in private conversation if he's been using it a lot recently.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Elvish (light elf, that is), the main human and orcish languages, all three of those perfectly fluently. He also knows smattering of the dark elf language too, but nothing that's recent (and he's not supposed to know it at all).

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Only as needed for diplomatic situations, otherwise he stays with his native language... though he has gotten a tendency to mumble a curse or two in the old dark elven language, but he's careful about not being overheard if so.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He's been trained for rhetoric, but while he's of course usually not supposed to need to improvise, he is indeed good at it, with a good sense of what he can or can't say in the situation.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Eloquent, usually, and he'd have to be subjected to a real shock for it to be any different.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Book-smart, honestly, for as good as is at diplomacy and keeping things close to the chest, he can still be more trusting than he probably should be. Clever enough in general though, and while he prefers languages to mathematics, he's had good teachers who's taught him with patience, so he's got an even knowledge profile.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He prefers time to deliberate, especially if it's important, but he might well have come to the same solution if having to think on his feet too - he just likes to feel in control and aware of his thought process.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Tied into the answer above, but aside from that, certainly intuitive. Idealistic by nature, practical by necessity and teaching; he knows how and when to prioritize... unless he doesn't want to.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Mostly aimed towards statesmanship and diplomacy/politics (up to university level or similar) with a general education to secondary school level as well, and a little higher than that for his personal interests.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Personal ones are language, literature and magic, the latter of which he's always interested in learning more of all sorts, even if he can't use it practically. In an official capacity, as mentioned above, statesmanship and diplomacy.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert, but he's had to learn to be more of an extrovert where it's necessary, and simply take his chances to recharge when he can.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Definitely even-tempered, with little spikes of huffy offense if you trigger his annoyance. Otherwise very collected ('repressed' might be what he'd be called from the outside), naturally and by choice both. Seems laid back with how restrained he is, is definitely driven.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Might seem stand-offish. Tries to be open, but he's got his prejudices. Definitely not timid, though again, his naturally restrained personality might make him seem such.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
To react, honestly.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Flight, but with his upbringing and protection around, or if he deems it necessary, he'll override it into fight.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
He's more the type for understated humour, but he does have an unholy love of good puns.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
He doesn't - though he's worried he might and by the family history, he could easily have ended up with some mental disorder.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
The first time he can remember his father flipping from being kind and affectionate to physically/emotionally cruel.
His first trip out of and away from the palace/capital to a summer retreat. While this was the first time he'd been out of his father's immediate reach for a couple months, the thing that left an impression was the sight of the city, the land and towns beyond that on their way to the retreat. How large it was, and that he'd only seen a little, and all the people falling under their authority.
When his sister died/was killed, where his father offered a very flimsy cover and everyone knew he did it but having no real recourse for doing anything about it.

14. What does he fear?
His father, ending up with the same issues his father and his aunt has developed (her to a lesser degree), failing to live up to expectations and not doing right by the Empire and its people.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
Up until it becomes explicit what the plans are, he simply hopes he'll be able to serve the Empire in any way possible, and he certainly has both aspirations that this could be done from becoming the next emperor. Not that he'd wish to usurp his sister, but he's neither blind nor stupid to what he's being trained for. Hoping things might get better for their family, whether that is with or without his father being present. Learning more about magic.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
What his father has done to him - none of it has been a lot, but it's certainly been enough - mostly because of the image that might cast on both himself and the rest of the family.
The fact that he's read some pretty forbidden books.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
He has a very good relationship with his mother, if a bit smothery and all too indulgent of Solarion and his wants, though she has put her feet down a couple times and they have argued. In comparison it's a lot more complicated when it comes to his father. He loves the man, of course, because he's been kind and loving and affectionate... when he hasn't belittled, insulted or, occasionally, struck him. It's like a switch being flipped, though sometimes there's forewarning and he can prepare or even avoid it entirely by being out of the way.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
He had four, all of them older (the youngest by 33 years still), and he's been doted on and spoiled by all of them, as the baby and a very lovable little child. The closest he has to an antagonistic relationship is some occasional rivalry when it comes to magical pursuits with the brother who's 33 years older than him (and dead in one version).

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
He really doesn't like one of his uncles, but otherwise he at least likes and is happy enough to spend time with his other uncle and his aunt, though as she's struggling with similar issues to his father, if on a less pervasive and dramatic scale, he's sometimes rather uncomfortable around her, as much as he doesn't want to be (he does admire her for actually fighting against and trying to deal with her mental illness, compared to his father).

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
His personal/closest bodyguard, Nalethe. It's partially professional and partially something like a mentor-mentee relationship, with Nalethe hovering somewhere between long-suffering older brother and a respected but sometimes only tolerated and definitely teased teacher. Nalethe's overprotective, and sometimes Solarion let's that be, sometimes he has to push against it, at least a little.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
The son of a minor noble, just a couple years older than Solarion. The initial hump (in terms of the chance they'd have to meet, etc. thanks to their slightly different circles) was overcome thanks to striking up conversation during the masquerade feast held on one of their most important holidays, and it stuck after that, even if the other boy didn't think it'd last at first.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Several. He has a rater large circle of friends from various noble families, and from a surprising span of different titles and such, probably helped by who his best friend is, which opened Solarion's eyes up to that he could - and maybe should - look beyond those who would be considered more "acceptable" in terms of social standing.
(the circle of influence basically goes his best friend -> five closest after that (in which his best friend is included) -> then the rest.)

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Easily. He's friendly, diplomatic and personable, so completely aside from his position and potential influence, Solarion draws people to him thanks to being himself (even if he can be a bit bratty and spoiled).

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Family, though since at some point "friends" start to be considered "family", it's more a question of intensity, even if it's not necessarily easy to make the switch.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
Someone thoroughly unattainable and at least a little inappropriate was his fist, though that's been laid to rest for a couple years by now. None currently.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Someone who can keep up with him, affectionate and who would like to be showered in gifts as much as they'd like to give the same.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
No children yet, and while he's not certain if he'd like any himself, considering the extra effort that'd entail, he's rather hoping one of his siblings will provide the next heir after him.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
In terms of threats to his position, none. In terms of personal relationships/people with influence (or future/potential influence) only one or two, but there might be more, he's young yet!

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
Gay. Basically 6 on the scale.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
As of yet it's not very important, and he doesn't need need it, but he's a young man and definitely interested. He'd rather just want someone he's romantically interested in, too (completely aside from definitely following the social mores of his society, which means he hasn't actually explored much yet).

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Turn-ons: his ears, hands, hair-pulling. Being attentive but rough.
Turn-offs: behaving as if he's made of glass.
As for weird bedroom habits, he hasn't exactly had a chance to develop any yet (aside from rather sleeping in the nude and only reluctantly going for using sleeping pants since that's safer in case something happens and he needs to leave immediately in an emergency).

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
He's a Libra (born late autumn), which both fits rather well and in some cases not (he's diplomatic and looking to compromise, but he needs to be prepared and willing, and his prejudices may make him ignore the desire to rather get along and avoid conflict.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Somewhat nonchalantly religious, the importance and effect is more background than foreground and won't be paid real effort and attention, but Solarion may still resort to heartfelt prayer in very pressured situations, or during holiday services.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
For the most part, it's the same morals and ethics as elven society in general, but what might be more specific is the firm belief in that no matter how little he likes someone, they have worth, and life is to be spared at nearly any cost.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Depends a little on who the person is who holds them - he can be curious, or haughtily tolerant, or downright uncomfortable.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He can be a little condescending towards other, since elf superiority is a thing, but the biggest one(s) would be against dark elves, which is a mix of perfect rational (if long since past) history and events since then, and irrational grudge wanking between the two races.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Rich, very rich, and will be so all his life with not a single worry when it comes to such things.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
Prince of an elven empire. What changes is that he ends up as the next emperor, whereas, if usual primogeniture had been followed, his oldest sibling (the oldest living, anyway) would have been Empress. He's been vaguely aware that something like this might be planned for years so it's more about adjustment to the responsibility, not a shock in general.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
A literal palace, though more personally, a wing within it, which he moved to/was moved to when he was five. It's his in a very personal way, and it's definitely a sense of home and safety around it.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Books, clothes, some jewellery (mostly earrings and regular rings), gifts for other people.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
Being a high ranking noble and youngest son of a ruling family. Which means that normally he would not have been in the running to ascend to a ruling position. He might most probably have been in a diplomatic position if any at all. As it is, though, he's being groomed and educated towards taking up the crown, and he's/will be reasonably good at it, wishing to care for his subjects and make sure the state runs as it should.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Reading, riding, researching magical theory and fencing. He likes to play certain games with his (surviving) brother, and he and his sister go riding or fence against each other.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He tries not to skip meals - usually, he would simply not be allowed to/there'd be no chance of him actually skipping a meal, since his days are pretty firmly scheduled and he can sometimes quite literally be herded from point A to point B. He can be pretty picky, and all of those idiosyncrasies and dislikes are indulged and adhered to - which, while it's sometimes restricted his intake, it's allowed him to try things on his own, under constant encouragement but not pushing from his mother. He drinks a small amount of alcohol, usually for feasts, but he isn't actually overly fond of the taste.
